Tuesday, December 10: the final DarkRoom Screening & Salon of 2024 happens at the Alamo Drafthouse in Lower Manhattan! Doors at 6pm / Films at 7pm. The screening will take place in The Press Room directly to the right once you enter the Alamo doors. 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 to attend + donations encouraged for artists, curated by Brian Ratigan and William George-Louis.
The two November editions of DarkRoom were packed! It’s so rare to be in a room full of artists, filmmakers, patrons, and such undeniable talent. Each screening is individually curated by Non Films to showcase a blend of styles and genres, and we hope to see you at at upcoming event. No two shows are alike!

Tuesday, January 28: DarkRoom continues at Freddy’s Bar & Backroom every fourth Tuesday, located in South Slope (627 5th Ave & 17th St). Doors at 8pm / Films at 9pm. 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 to attend + donations encouraged for artists. This will be a very special screening, with details forthcoming!

• MONO XVIIII FESTIVAL OF CINEMA ARTS is happening Dec 4-8 in Brooklyn! This biennial festival celebrates analogue filmmaking, expanded cinema, installation, live performance, and works shot on film. Totally DIY and FREE! See you there.
• The music of Eddie Flamingo is very much worth checking out. You can hear some of the music in the film Bird Watching Man by Eldridge, which we recently screened at DarkRoom. FYI: the FINAL performance by Eddie Flamingo will be in Brooklyn at Umbra on December 12, so see you there!
• Aaron Schimberg’s A DIFFERENT MAN took home Best Feature at the 2024 Gotham Awards! If you haven’t seen it yet, we HIGHLY recommend doing so.
• Cahiers du Cinema released their Top Films of 2024.
• Jack Dunphy’s Sundance Nonfiction Short Film winner Bob’s Funeral is now streaming on Mubi and is easily one fo the finest films of 2024. It’s intense, funny, and brutally honest. 💙
• Beyond hyped for Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist (coming December 20 from A24)
