"Ghosts on dry toast."
FILM FILM FILM
Endless thanks to The Film-Makers’ Cooperative for having us return with another edition of DarkRoom. All the films were screened on excellent 16mm prints and the crowd was fantastic. We could not have asked for a better way to kick off December than being amongst fellow cinema patrons and aesthetes in the FMC microcinema.
(Pictured: the great Gillian Harrill performing a live, improvised harp score to a 16mm print of 1999’s The Lion and The Zebra Make God’s Raw Jewels by Stan Brakhage)
Special thanks to Matt McKenzie and the FMC team for hosting us. Be sure to check out their excellent monthly programming, and we plan to return in 2026…

Zach Strum is one of our favorite filmmakers, and this time he’s really outdone himself with a music video: 200 backflips on 16mm. Brilliant. Stunning. Watch and enjoy.
