β’ The upcoming Freddyβs edition of DarkRoom this month (Tuesday, Feb. 25) will be guest curated by the great Kevin Schreck, whose latest film Antarctic Voyage recently had its NY premiere at Anthology Film Archives! Follow Kevin for future screenings and updates.
β’ Great review of Vulcanizadora from the masterminds behind Split Tooth Media. The latest from Joel Potrykus was one of our favorite films we saw last year.
β’ We recently began re-reading Cosmic Scholar: The Life and Times of Harry Smith by John Szwed, an amazing book about one of the rarest of artists to ever walk the Earth. We refer to him as a genius. Harry Smith changed American culture (and the world, for that matter) by constantly creating, archiving, and advocating for the arts. Read the New York Times review.
β’ The Ithaca Experimental Film Festival is happening from Friday, February 28 - Sunday, March 2. You do NOT want to miss this βweird and unorthodox world of DIY filmmakingβ on the big screen, with filmmakers in attendance! Come through.

Allison Schulnik is a painter, sculptor, and filmmaker whose animated film EAGER has stayed in the back of our mind for all of these years. A beautiful dance of birth quickly turns macabre, all while tipping the balance of haunting beauty through the use of traditional claymation stop motion.
